Persons of a certain age may remember Tia Carrere as the foxy musician from Wayne’s World. I will always remember her as the first actress I saw who was from my home state, who looked like me (except infinitely more beautiful and glamourous, of course) and who talked like me. And I will always love her for voicing Nani, the older sister in the film Lilo and Stitch, whose Hawai’ian name I share.

YES. I loved those ridiculous films pretty much because she was in them.

I have two favorite roles: The Immortals and as Noni in Lilo&Stitch. But seriously, ANY time she shows up is good for me. Talented, smart, and beautiful.
