Heralding the return to regular posting is this Norwegian-Nigerian-British actor-comedian-writer beauty, Richard Ayoade. Best loved by me as his character Maurice Moss in The IT Crowd, he recently turned his hand to film-making with the coming-of-age story Submarine, adapted from Joe Dunthorne’s novel. I just watched it last night. I’d recommend it to anyone who likes a sympathetic tale about a socially awkward intelligent introvert.

When you do, I advise trying to ensure you don't have any distractions or interruptions. It's not that it's hard to follow, it's that it's visually captivating. It has a certain feel to it that I think is worth immersing yourself in.

Apparently when we first started watching it, I used to go, "Hee" and start grinning like a maniac every time Richard Ayoade appeared. The bloke eventually noticed, and pointed this out in typically tactful fashion. "You're so in love with Moss!"

If you haven't seen The IT Crowd, I recommend watching the show! Some of my favourite episodes are Series 2: Ep 5, Series 4: Ep 1 and the entirety of Series 3.

The intense sexiness of that picture was only enhanced when I realized that he's basically cosplaying Francois Truffaut (of whom he's a big fan). The white sweater under the jacket, the scarf -- classic Truffaut.
